Liber Open: open tutor models anyone can build on
The Liber way of teaching, open for developers, schools and public systems to run and build on themselves.

Developers, schools and public systems often want to build learning tools of their own. Each of them knows its learners best. None should have to build a patient tutor from nothing.
Liber Open is the open tier of Liber, our tutor. It is being built as open tutor models that anyone can run and build on, anywhere, at low cost.
What it will do
- Run anywhere. Developers, schools and public systems will be able to run it themselves.
- Be built on. Anyone will be able to build their own tools on top.
- Cost little. Low cost matters, because every dollar saved lets another person learn.
- Teach the Liber way. They are designed to ask before they tell, offer a hint instead of the answer, and check that each idea stuck.
The idea behind it
We believe models, benchmarks, maps and courses are public goods that anyone should be able to build on. We build the hard parts once and open them wherever we can. A patient tutor is one of the hardest parts of all.
How it fits
Liber Open sits beside the rest of our open work. Source is designed so every course comes with a tutor, and Delta is designed to measure any AI tutor, on any model, by how much students learn. Read more on the Liber page.
Where it stands
Liber Open is still being built inside United Education. It is one of the first releases in line on the release ledger, and we will open it when it is ready.
