Lantern: mentors who have walked the path
From the first course to the first job, with someone who has been there.

Some things are hard to learn from a course. What the first job is really like. Which skills matter on a hard shift. How to keep going when it gets difficult. The people who know are the ones who have done it.
Lantern is the Village product for mentorship. It is being built so that mentors who have walked the path can guide the learners who follow, from the first course to the first job.
What it will do
- Pair learners with experience. Mentors from the field a learner is entering, who know the road ahead.
- Stay for the whole road. Guidance from the first course to the first job.
- Fit each field. Engineers who have deployed AI at Campus-1, founders at Campus-2, nurses and medics at Campus-3, and veterans in Service.
- Pass it on. Learners who finish will become the mentors who guide the next ones.
The idea behind it
Every graduate is a future mentor. When the learners who finish turn back to guide the next ones, the circle grows with each class. Lantern is designed to make that handover a normal part of learning.
How it fits
Lantern is planned for Campus and Service, alongside Campfire for peers and Bench for tutors. Read more on the Village page.
Where it stands
Lantern is being developed inside United Education and is not open yet. When it is ready, it will join the release ledger and open to the learners it was built for.
