SchoolOS: one picture of every student

It will connect the systems a school already runs, so help can arrive early.

At morning drop-off, a principal crouches to fist-bump a first grader as buses unload behind them.

A school runs on many systems: records, lessons, support plans, messages home, assessments. Each one holds part of the picture of a student. When they do not talk to each other, a need can go unseen until it is late.

SchoolOS is the school’s platform in Grid. It is being built to connect every system a school already runs, through open connectors, and to build one support profile for each student.

What it will connect

  • Student records. Enrollment, grades and attendance.
  • Learning and assessment. Lessons, assignments and the tutor inside them, and what each student knows and what comes next.
  • Support plans. Every plan in one place, followed through.
  • Families and safety. Messages and progress in the family’s language, with Crossing Guard rules applied everywhere.

The idea behind it

Nobody should have to start over. Schools already have systems they trust, and replacing them would set everyone back. SchoolOS is designed to build on what exists, so school leaders get one clear picture of every student, and every need is seen early.

How it fits

In a school, Liber will work with the student, Lift will work for the teacher, and SchoolOS will keep the whole school in view underneath them. It is the same platform as CampusOS, in an edition for schools and districts. Read more on the Grid page.

Where it stands

SchoolOS is being developed inside United Education. It will be released when it is ready, and the release ledger will show it when its turn comes.
